IPTC: Caption	US District Judge Dolly Gee pointed out that the two officers involved, Matthew Griffin and Jeffrey Newlen, may have believed 19-year-old Kendrec McDade was armed, based on a 911 call from a robbery victim. However, neither officer, based on their own depositions, ever saw McDade with a weapon before each man opened fire and killed him.
