Within one month, the heads of Facebook and Google both urged the European Union to adopt a common set of laws to govern the digital space in order to make things easier for them. While one can understand the desire of tech CEOs to facilitate international business, what about national sovereignty? The last guy who had the idea of uniting Europe was Hitler, and believe it or not, he argued that ease of common laws and markets was a reason to do so.
